OUTRAGE!!!!

THEY ARE CHANGING THE NAMES IN THE FARAWAY TREE!!! WTF?!?! 

FRANNIE!?!?!
RICK?!?!

What is WRONG with DICK and FANNY!?!? I grew up with them and I turn out fine!! PEOPLE!! They are shotting my childhood in the head!!

Here are some of the changes:
* The Faraway Tree - Fanny, Dick, Jo and Bessie are now Frannie, Rick, Joe and Beth.
* The Adventurous Four - Mary and Jill are now Zoe and Pippa (more modern).
* Dame Slap is now Dame Snap and she no longer smacks naughty children.
* "Queer" is now "odd"
* "Horrid common voice" is now "horrid mean voice".
* Americanisations include changing "I say" to "hey" and "biscuits" to cookies". 

(My sister and I already had an outraged rant about it in the kitchen - mostly it consisted of WHAT?!?! I KNOW!!)

I'm so completely outraged too, Twinness! This is despicable! How dare they? This is making me so angry and confused and they're just WRONG!

Frannie? Rick? I mean, I can understand that - I don't think it's right, but I can understand it - but what's wrong with the name Bessie? I know someone called Bessie! That name is not out of date or salacious or anything. Zoe and Pippa? WHAT THE BANANAS? This whole thing is so bizarre!

Dame Slap was the coolest! What the hell is Dame Snap? What does she do - snap her fingers at you? Whhhhhaaaaaaaaaattttt???

And they're not going to say "I say" anymore? Any of them? THAT'S THE BEST PART! I'm going to start saying it just to spite those evil, soulless editors or wahtever they call themselves.

I don't understand why they are changing OUR HISTORY, its an example of the culture of the time!! They are changing something because they don't think its relevant to todays world, they thinks its outdated and wrong but thats WHY its relevant! I don't understand! Just because it isn't their culture, it isn't politically correct tehy change it - but then we only have a whitewashed verison of history! It gets me so irritated! And WHY are tehy changing the I Say!! And the bisicuts!! They might not be American but HEY!! The FarAway tree isn't SET in the US!!

Okay, I didn't meeean to rant at you, sorry! But Gah!! it gets me SO annoyed! That's OUR childhood they are changing!!

Killing them would be a kindness!! They need to feel pain!!
